We are bound by strings,
only to live in darkness forever,
never having known the light,
while life passes by
Destiny encompasses all
Well, I am not good at making up these stories, as there is more to the drawing than just
that little piece of story. This time around I tried to give everything a drew a meaning.
The puppet controlled by the hand of destiny says that we are all controlled by destiny,
and no matter what we do, we cannot do anything to prevent this. Furthermore she is
sinking away in a puddle that is being filled by demons, indicating that every minute we
loose is a minute closer to death. The roses say that however beautifull something may be,
its thorns will hurt you in the end. The title on the bottom reads:
Humans are like marionets, everyone is bound by the cruel strings of fate
Finally the drawing has been finished, it took a long while... This drawing took a lot out of me,
I had to change a lot of things in the process (like destiny's hand going wrong for a lot of times),
but I am very proud of the result. Its also the first time in a while that everything I had put in the drawing
did have a meaning. I also tried to use only black and whites, with red as secundary colour, to give
the most important thing (the puppet) in the drawing more contrast to the rest.
And please use fullview, its so much better that way.

Well... I think there are some mistakes in the Latin grammar and translation.
The Latin text says nothing about marionettes.
I think 'vincere' should be 'vinctus' (perfectum passivi)
'a' is only used with living creatures ('ligamentibus' are not a living thing).
My Latin is a bit rusty though... Where did you get that text from?

"I was born alive. Isn't that punishment enough?"
Absolutely everything is stunningly gorgeous, from the clothing, border, poem to description. Beautiful concept and really well represented in your artwork. The colours/ shading work perfectly to create an eerie, dark atmosphere and is totally thought-provoking. Amazing work, well deserving of a . Keep up the fabulous work!
Well, Giel wasnt entirely sure either. Anyway, it doesnt matter that much, its the thought that counts. And if someone can provide me a 100% accurate translation, than I will change it immediately.

DeviantART has partnered with FAIR to help promote equality through The Love Unites Shepard Fairey Equality Project. We're asking deviants to align themselves with this cause and have their work judged by Shepard Fairey himself!
For those who have many watchers, and for those who dont have many, it is hard to know how one retains that interest as well as receive more. This article explores the basics of watchers and how we react to certain situations. Although it does not affect some deviants, and the tips are generally related to common sense, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority learn something from reading this.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
